Multi Day Event
It was the turn of the Albatross Advanced Squad in their first multi day event of the new season this past weekend with club divers and coaches celebrating a silver medal on 1m from Millan in his first Age Group event, a 4th placing for Fin on platform, a 6th placing for Naya on 1m and a 9th place for Ariana on 1m also in her first Age Group event all on the first day. The team were excited to be back at The Quays in Southampton for this annual event that marks, for most, the start of the 2024/25 competitive season.
Day 2 saw the Albatross team back in action with Ariana and Naya on platform, Fin on 1m and Ellie on 3m. In a large group B girls event Ariana and Naya both performed their lists well coming 15th and 9th respectively with Naya only 1 point off her PB. Fin took the bronze medal with a new 1m PB and Ellie finaled in her first Age Group event coming 6th on 3m. The weekends celebrations continued with a team meal with family and friends.
The club then rounded off Day 3 with a final congratulations to all of our Albatross team of divers Fin, Ariana, Naya, Ellie, Thomas and Millan and coaches Malcolm, Charlie and Hernan. The club are very proud of you all and wish remaining teammate Hannah a speedy recovery to her injury. The days finals concluded with a well deserved silver medal for Thomas in his first Age Group final, a bronze for Fin and 5th place for Millan all on 3m as the team return home to Reading to start to prepare their lists for the English Schools Diving Championships in December where all have qualified for the Southeast team and the new years national qualification events. Our thanks go to Southampton Diving Academy for hosting this enjoyable and well run competition.
