Albatross Diving Club is a springboard and high diving club based in Reading. We are proud of our local 40 year history and the success of our divers at Junior International, National, Regional and Local competitions.

Swim England Diving Club of the Year 2024
As a community inclusive diving club we work hard to nurture and identify local diving talent and are especially proud that Albatross nurtured the early talent of Chris Mears, 2016 Olympic Gold Medallist.
We run a vibrant Learn to Dive Programme alongside our competitive squad sessions so if you think you would like to give diving a try please do get in touch. Everyone is welcome! Fees start from £35 pcm for half hour learn to dive sessions that run throughout the year.
We run community junior lessons Monday, Tuesday and Thursday evenings and daytime Saturdays and Sundays at Rivermead Leisure Centre.
We have adult diving on a Thursday evening at Rivermead 7:45-8:45pm
Following our move from The Abbey School, where we have been training for the past 6 years, to our new home at Rivermead we are expanding our capacity with more sessions, particularly at weekends.
Competitive squads enjoy additional training sessions which incorporate dry training at our Rivermead facility and highboard training in Southampton. We compete at Regional and National Level from Skills through to GB Junior Elite. Divers meeting competition conditions will also be offered the opportunity to compete in international events.
We are part of the Southeast Regional Network of clubs who support diver and coach development from grass roots diving to talent selection and training. All coaches are fully qualified (Swim England Assistant Dive Coach and Dive Coach) with some having additional qualifications in lifesaving gymnastics, trampolines & rig work.

Dive Safe
We take our commitment to child safety extremely seriously. All coaches are DBS checked and have attended workshops on safeguarding & protecting children in sport. Albatross Diving Club is committed to everyone having the right to enjoy their sport in an environment free from threat of discrimination, intimidation, harassment, and abuse.
Active Squad
We have approximately 30 competitive squad members and around 181 more members involved in Learn to Dive and Masters Diving.
Our squad divers are aged from 5 years and train up to 5 times a week.
Experienced
Albatross Diving Club was founded in Reading in 1978 by Anne Green Jessel, our current Club President.
With over 45 years experience the club has attracted divers onto its community Learn to Dive programme who have gone on to become National divers and remain engaged in the club as members of the coaching team.
Albatross Diving Club of Reading is dedicated to the advancement of excellence in diving and the personal fulfilment and achievement of all those involved with the sport.
We are a competitive diving club and believe that the enjoyment of diving is primarily attained through the achievement of personal and team goals. It is the clubs aim to identify and nurture talent though the provision of a high quality programme of learning and training opportunities.
Albatross Diving Club has been awarded SwimMark accreditation which enhances these values. SwimMark is Swim Englands ‘quality mark’ in recognition of our commitment to providing safe, effective and quality services for the benefit of all our members.
