Readings Diving Club Nurturing National Champions
Albatross Diving Club is a springboard and high diving club based in Reading. We are proud of our local 40 year history and the success of our divers at Junior International, National, Regional and Local competitions.
About Albatross Diving
Swim England Diving Club of the Year 2024
As a community inclusive diving club we work hard to nurture and identify local diving talent and are especially proud that Albatross nurtured the early talent of Chris Mears, 2016 Olympic Gold Medallist.
We run a vibrant Learn to Dive Programme alongside our competitive squad sessions so if you think you would like to give diving a try please do get in touch. Everyone is welcome! Fees start from £35 pcm for half hour learn to dive sessions that run throughout the year.
We run community junior lessons Monday, Tuesday and Thursday evenings and daytime Saturdays and Sundays at Rivermead Leisure Centre.
We have adult diving on a Thursday evening at Rivermead 7:45-8:45pm
Following our move from The Abbey School, where we have been training for the past 6 years, to our new home at Rivermead we are expanding our capacity with more sessions, particularly at weekends.
Competitive squads enjoy additional training sessions which incorporate dry training at our Rivermead facility and highboard training in Southampton. We compete at Regional and National Level from Skills through to GB Junior Elite. Divers meeting competition conditions will also be offered the opportunity to compete in international events.
We are part of the Southeast Regional Network of clubs who support diver and coach development from grass roots diving to talent selection and training. All coaches are fully qualified (Swim England Assistant Dive Coach and Dive Coach) with some having additional qualifications in lifesaving gymnastics, trampolines & rig work.
